Our Values

Our Values

As a family we value prayer & worship, teamwork, being immersed in the culture in which we serve, and pursuing continuous growth both spiritually and in practical skills.

Prayer & Worship

We serve in the Penisular Asia region of Southeast Asia. This area is the hotbed of Buddhism throughout the world (Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, & Cambodia). Serving here is a constant reminder of Ephesians 6:12;

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

We believe our greatest weapon of warfare as we live & serve in Thailand is prayer and exalting the name of Jesus. We are part of a movement called Change the Map, a prayer initiative for the Buddhist world that, while intentionally praying for Buddhist, also teaches and informs others of Buddhism and how to pray for the Buddhist world.

The headquarters for Change the Map is located in Chiang Mai, Thailand. To learn more about Change the Map click HERE.

Building worship in Thailand is what originally brought Stephanie to Thailand and is still a passion of her heart as well as Pope’s.

There is a House of Prayer in Chiang Mai that welcomes all believers to be a part of it. Over time, we hope to build night and day worship to Jesus in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Teamwork

We believe we were created to live and serve in community as it provides accountability, encouragement, and strength in ministry. We will be joining an already established team of AGWM missionaries when we reach Chiang Mai.

This team partners with 5 established Thai Assembly of God churches. We will be coming alongside the pastor and leaders of one of those churches to serve with them on a regular basis. This will include Sunday morning services as well as outreach activities and discipleship building.

We will also partner with the other AG churches to help them in their evangelistic outreaches or discipleship programs as needed. Some examples of what we may be doing is teaching English and providing afterschool care for children.

Simply Living & Loving

It’s important that we integrate into Thai society in every way possible. Part of reaching the Buddhist world is recognizing that it’s a long process that requires building relationships among the people.

For us this means living in a Thai neighborhood, continuing language study for Steph & the kids, shopping at the local markets, and interacting daily with our neighbors.

Our children will be homeschooled with the intent of joining a homeschool co-op in Chiang Mai comprised of both Thais and westerners. This allows us to be a part of the greater community around us, building relationships with other believers outside of our AGWM team and church family.

We also have our extended family in Thailand that is of the Lawa tribe which is Buddhist and largely unreached. We are provided open doors into unreached villages simply by the fact that Pope is Lawa.

Our visits with family are accompanied with a deep burden to see the Lawa people know Jesus as their Savior.

Pursuing Growth

Along with all these things, we will continue to study the Word of God. Pope will be studying through the Assembly’s Thai Global University in Chiang Mai and Stephanie will be working towards accreditation through the Assemblies.
